Statement:

My work explores the quiet intersection between texture and emotion, and how surfaces, color, rhythm and poetry can evoke a sense of calm. Whether working with sound, paint, collage, ceramics or poetry, I aim to create moments of reflection that connect us to our inner landscape. My inspiration is the meditative process involved in creativity and articulating my emotions through art. As a child I learned to express myself imaginatively through artistic form and to allow this positivity to flow. To unravel the true meaning of our search for a peaceful existence, we live only in the present moment utilizing creative energy. I strive to create this balance for myself and for those that still seek beauty in the world.

Biography:

Gina Coffey currently resides with her husband and family in Metuchen. Upon retirement as an Import/Export Manager, she is currently the owner of Tipping Point Life Coaching. A volunteer at Friends of Metuchen Arts, Gina currently performs musically at local establishments. She is a multidisciplinary artist whose creativity spans a wide range of mediums and substrates, with an intuitive approach to texture, form and aesthetics.
